Vatnsdæla saga

''Vatnsdœla saga'' () is one of the sagas of Icelanders. It is essentially a family chronicle, probably written just after the middle of the thirteenth century.
It relates to the valley that runs south from Hunafloi in the north of Iceland.
Ingimundur, the grandson of a Norwegian chieftain, Ketill Raum, fought for King Harald Fairhair of Norway at the battle of Hafrsfjord and was rewarded by him. At the instigation of a fortune-teller he moved to Iceland where he lived to old age. The saga follows the story of his family until the arrival of Christianity in the late tenth century.
